We need more women like this

My reblog was pretty aggressive on this one

“We need more women like this” there already are tons of women like this dummass what we Need is more people praising women for speaking up instead of shunning them or putting down other women who are too afraid to speak up

We call ships ‘she.’ We call our war machines ‘women.’ We compare women to black widows and vipers. And you’re going to tell me it’s not ‘lady-like’ to scream, to take up space, to fight and demand respect and do whatever the hell I want. You’ve looked at nuclear bombs and been so in awe that you could only name them after women. Don’t try to down-play my power.

I want to frame this and put it next to my computer.

Don’t shame the girls who sent pictures of themselves half-naked to their significant others as a way to express eroticism which is healthy and natural… give the people hell who think it’s okay to destroy someone’s trust and distribute those images simply for entertainment purposes.

Say it again. I don’t think they got it the first time. Too much truth.

I kinda love you for asking this, Anon.

Basically, animals have baculums (penis bones) so they can maintain an erection any time they need it for as long as they need it to complete copulation. Animals don’t really do romance like us humans. Mating puts them in a vulnerable position and having to wait around for blood flow and stimulation to get an erection wastes valuable time that they can’t waste with predators and competition all around. So in comes (haha) the baculum!

The baculum is housed inside the male’s abdomen and it is surrounded by muscles that can push it out of the abdomen and into the body of the penis any time it is needed. It can be extended for any length of time that the male needs and it can be retracted quickly.

Having a baculum is a huge advantage to both animals that mate fast and those with more prolonged copulations. For faster procreators it’s immensely helpful to not have to rely on blood flow for an erection but instead simply flex a few muscles and boom, you’re ready to go. Male lions can mate well over sixty times in a single day with multiple partners thanks to their bacula. And for animals with more prolonged matings it’s a major asset to not have to rely on getting and maintaining an erection to get the deed done.

Most mammals have them but humans (our great ape relatives do still have them, albeit very small ones), horses, cetaceans, rabbits, marsupials, elephants, and a few others don’t have them. No one really knows why some species have them and some don’t.

And fun random fact: many female animals have a clitoris bone! It’s called the baubellum.

There’s an acronym for the mammalian orders that have baculua. It’s PRICC:
